dynamic and experienced EPC Purchase Assistant Manager/Manager to join our team.
This role will be instrumental in managing the procurement process for our EPC
(Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective
acquisition of materials and services.
Position Overview:
The EPC Purchase Assistant Manager/Manager will be responsible
for overseeing the procurement activities related to EPC projects. This role involves
developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and
ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services required for
solar module manufacturing and EPC projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the
solar industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support EPC projects and ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop procurement plans.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and reliability.
2. Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
3. Procurement Process Management:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including RFQ (Request for Quotation) preparation, bid evaluation, and purchase order issuance.
- Monitor and track the progress of orders to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project timelines.
- Resolve any issues related to procurement, such as delays, quality concerns, or discrepancies.
4. Cost Control and Budget Management:
- Monitor and control procurement costs to ensure alignment with project budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce procurement expenses.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, including cost analysis and savings achieved.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all procured materials and services meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with quality assurance teams to conduct inspections and audits of suppliers.
- Address any quality issues with suppliers and implement corrective actions as necessary.
6. Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier evaluations.
- Prepare and submit regular procurement reports and documentation to management.
7. Team Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other departments to ensure alignment of procurement activities with project goals.
- Provide guidance and support to junior procurement staff as needed.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to project planning and execution.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field and advanced degree is a plus.
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
- Proven experience in managing procurement for EPC projects, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost control.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
